Summer is flying by!
It seems like school just ended and now were already in the
month of July.
I know that all you Moms and Dads out there have busy
summers with your children being home.
While some of you are fortunate enough to be with them, you sometimes
depend on a Nanny. In some situations your
nanny is not as amazing of a cooker as you are!
For this entry I was thinking of good, “On The Go!” lunches that are
gluten-free, kid friendly and of course portable. You can even prepare these for the next
day. You can take them to the pool, zoo,
basketball camp, ect.
While doing some research on various portable lunches and
snacks, I have found they have made some very handy Tupperware now a days!
One possible on the go lunch is:
- - Mandarin oranges
- -A Muffin
- -Cheese cubes
- -Salami sticks
-Peppers (Red, Yellow or Green)
- - Strawberries
I know what you’re thinking, a muffin!? That has gluten in
it. There are gluten-free muffin mixes
that are kid and adult friendly! One
brand I would recommend is King Arthur Flour’s Gluten Free Muffin Mix. You can add anything to your muffins to make
them to your liking! These boxes run
about $5 but you can make up to about 14.
Many times when you’re out and running around you want to feed your
children quick, but by making this quick decision you also make a bad eating
decision. I know from personal
experience when taking care of children, if they want food, they want it right
then and there! Keeping these “On the Go”
snacks nearby will help you from making a bad decision for your childs diet.
